What is Self-Harm?
Slef-harm is the action of harming oneself without the intent to commit suicide.
The many forms of self-harm include cutting, burning, eating disorders, etc. For trauma survivors, self-harm can function
as tension reduction, punishment, trauma re-enactment, or rage expression. It is also known as self-inflicted violence, self-injury,
and self-mutilation.
Why this website?
Self-harm is a very lonely condition and those who self-harm often feel too scared
or ashamed to tell anyone about their problem, even if he or she does want help. The purpose of this site is to offer free
help and information for those who may not be able to get it from anyone else.
